The deep and impressive shine is attributed to many layers of hand-crafted lacquer finish that accumulate to an almost perfect coat. Asian Lacquer Finish

Our authentic Vietnamese lacquerware comes hand-crafted from small villages in rural areas of Vietnam that depend on handmade goods for their living. For example, a layer of black lacquer is applied and sanded down to a smooth shine, with each layer closely examined for defects and imperfections.
